• Tiger's Eye is a variety of quartz filled with inclusions. It’s a chatoyant gemstone formed when parallel fibers of crocidolite (non-harmful, blue asbestos) are replaced by quartz while maintaining their parallel structure. The stone is characterized by its distinctive golden-brown to honey-colored bands that create a silky, shimmering effect as the stone is moved, producing an optical phenomenon that resembles the eye of a cat, with a striking interplay of light that appears to move across the surface of the stone. The most common variety is golden-brown color, followed by blue and red variations.
